From the Corner Office

Winter' s not so bad! It's a glorious sunshine today, and cozy warm inside the theatre. We've got two kinds of hot chocolate on the menu and a packed schedule of toasty events for January:

Folk musicians DAVE GUNNING of Pictou and JAMES KEELAGHAN of Calgary will be playing live, along with Cape Breton musician Allie Bennett, this Sunday afternoon. They've got an armload of JUNOs and ECMAs, and enough beautiful songs to melt snow for miles.

On the big screen, we have FERDINAND this weekend on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. A very funny and utterly charming animated feature staring Ferdinand the Bull.

On January 19 and 21 we bring you the much talked about feature film ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD.  It's a kidnapping thriller with great performances by Michelle Williams, Mark Wahlberg and Christopher Plummer (who was scooted in at the last minute to replace Kevin Spacey).

On January 22 we bring you the award-winning film WASTE LAND as part of the REEL ART 2018 series. Click here for the full Reel Art schedule.

Scotch drinkers won't want to miss the ROBBIE BURNS NIGHT SCOTCH TASTING event on Thursday January 25. In collaboration with connoisseur Leslee Fredericks of the NSLC, the event will include pipers, odes, haggis, appetizers, kilts, and fine scotch.

All the way from Nunavut, we are very excited to bring you SUSAN AGLUKARK on January 28. She is not only a three time JUNO winner, she's also a Member of the Order of Canada. It will be a very special event indeed.

Coming up in February is a return of the VALENTINE'S ART AUCTION. This year's theme is 50 Shades of Love -- red hot! Artists, be sure to get in touch with organizer Flora Colautti Hall to let her know you want to be on board, as the deadline for work is January 30.

Stay warm, and see you at the theatre!

Janet Larkman

P.S.
Box Office Hours for January will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am-3pm.
