Read All About It - Take Your Time........

We've had a really fast paced couple of weeks. Before going back to work, I was unemployed and relaxing at our Cocoa Beach "rehab" center for July and part of August. It is known to my Online Class as Flatpik Central South. A beautiful part of the world full of friendly people and lots to do. Donna and I went to the beach nearly every day. We tried Stand up Paddle Boarding. Donna did great with it and me, um, ok. I stood locked and loaded not wanting to move knowing it would not be pretty seeing me try to get back up to my feet after a fall.
Thanks for all concerned with our Florida home. Hurricane Irma tore through Cocoa Beach and stripped all the trees and bushes of their leaves. No power or water for days but everything is back on now. We had only minor damage to our structure. Nothing to complain about and everything to be thankful for. Thanks for all the support through the storm.

From Florida, we came back to Flatpik Central North in Tennessee for a few days before heading up to Alaska. As if we didn't suffer enough by taking 6 weeks off in Florida, when we get to Alaska we went to Girdwood and hiked and sightsee for a week before getting back to work. Here are a few shots of the Girdwood area:

Our little firend

From Girdwood, I went on to Seward and played an Elementary School show and then a concert in the evening. Another beautiful part of Alaska. Then Donna and I traveled to Wasilla where I taught the Acoustic Alaska Guitar Camp for my 4th time. Great to see friends and students I've known and meeting new ones. All the instructors were a treat to hang with and work with. Thanks to Joe Becker for having me back. I look forward to the next opportunity. Go there if you can.

Greensleeves - The Contest Tune No More

We came home on Sunday and Monday I began my September Online Classes and rode out the week heading out to Kansas for the Nationals.
Well..... Good news and bad news. The bad news is I didn't do well. I was greatly disappointed but not broken for I shall return. This is a personal project and goal for me so I am ok and eager to get back and try again next year. But...I will be retiring my contest version of Greensleeves and will have it soon in my Single Song Download Lessons as well as a YouTube clip. You will be able to find it at soon.

The good news is actually GREAT news. Our own "Smilin'" Andy Hatfield is the new 2017 National Flatpicking Champ. This is his second 1st place. Andy will be teaching flatpicking with us at Kamp this summer and as always we are proud to have him with us. Congrats Champ Champ!

That's the past and now for the future. I've got lots of great road trips scheduled for 2017 and 2018. Some into 2019 so check them out fully at

See you all down the road and be safe.
